Israel is a land of snow-covered mountains, massive deserts with extreme heat, seashores along the Mediterranean Sea, rolling hills, the lowest point on earth, dormant volcanoes, roaring waterfalls, and the most famous lake in the world, known as the Sea of Galilee.
Vineyards are located in all these areas with 40 different grapes varieties being grown.
Israeli Wine is Produced in 5 Regions:

The Northern part of Israel’s wine regions. This region is sub-divided into four sub-regions: Golan Heights , Upper Galilee; Lower Galilee; Tabor; and the. This region touches the borders of Lebanon, Syria and Jordan.

Located near the Mediterranean coast and includes the Carmel Mountain Range, Zichron Ya’akov and Binyamina. This is the largest grape growing area in the country.

Located between the foothills of the Jerusalem Mountains and the Mediterranean coast. It includes the central plains.

Surrounds the city of Jerusalem. It is at a relatively high altitude and many of the boutique wineries are located in this region.

Located in the Southern part of Israel and occupies 60% of Israel’s land mass. This is one of the most intriguing grape growing regions in the world. The Negev borders Jordan, Egypt, the Mediterranean coast, and touches the Red Sea.
